A 75-year-old man is in hospital after suffering a serious injury during an assault in Glanaman on Wednesday night.
Two men have been arrested in relation to the incident, which took place in Maesybont between 9.30pm and 10pm.
A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesman said: “Officers attended the area and found that a 75-year-old male had sustained a serious injury.
“The male was conveyed to hospital where he currently remains.
“Police have arrested two males in connection with the incident.”
Officers are appealing to anyone who may have any information or who witnessed or heard anything in the area between the relevant times, is asked to contact Dyfed-Powys Police by 101 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
Officers are understood to be carrying out door-to-door enquiries in the area today.
