CCTV images of a man police would like to speak to in connection to a fire last week at Penygroes Memorial Hall have been released.

Dyfed-Powys Police are hoping the two images captured from CCTV camera feeds will allow them to trace the man who they think has information that may help in the investigation of the blaze.

Fire crews had been called to Penygroes Memorial Hall in the early hours of Sunday, March 13, after a fire broke out at the rear of the single story building on Waterloo Road.

Emergency services from Tumble and Ammanford were called to the scene shortly after 3am and remained there for about 90 minutes.

A spokeswoman for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said at the time that crews used a thermal imaging camera, a positive pressure venting fan and a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and secure the building.

The hall had been empty at the time and nobody suffered any injury in the incident.

Regarding the CCTV images, a spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Police are investigating a fire which occurred in the early hours on Sunday morning, March 13 behind Penygroes Memorial Hall, Waterloo Road.

“No-one was injured in the incident.”

The spokesperson added: “Police would especially like to speak to the individual in the CCTV images as they may have information which could help the investigation.”
