MOTORISTS travelling to and from Llanelli tonight have been warned of a road closure.

Carmarthenshire County Council have warned that the road between Trostre roundabout and Farm Foods in Llanelli will be closed from 6pm to 6am tonight for tree felling works.

The works, to remove large Fir Trees along the A484 link, has been restricted to 6pm to 6am in order to minimise disruption with a further restriction on noise pollution to 12 midnight.

It will include chainsaw activity; however the trees will be being removed from site to an agreed location for further grinding and chipping to eliminate noise pollution throughout the course of the evening.

The works are expected to take approximately 10 days to complete due to the restricted working hours.

Executive Board Member for the Environment Cllr Hazel Evans said: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience that the closure may cause and thank people for their co-operation. It is essential that these works are carried out; however measures have been put in place to try and keep disruption to a minimum.”

Diversionary routes will be in place.
