A 23-YEAR-OLD man died in a car crash on the A40 westbound dual carriageway near Bancyfelin on Saturday night.
The man has been named as Daniel James Cobain of Carmarthen.
The dark Mini convertible Mr James was driving left the road sometime between 5.30pm on Saturday, January 23, and 12:40am this morning.
The car came to rest in a nearby field.
The collision scene was discovered by police patrolling the A40 shortly after midnight.
Dyfed Powys Police Roads Policing Unit is carrying out a full investigation into the cause of the incident.
Mr James' family has been notified.
A police spokesman urged motorists who were travelling in either direction on the A40 during this time to call 101 if they have any knowledge of the collision.
