A SUSPECTED thief believed to have stolen the wallet of an Ammanford pensioner has been captured on CCTV using the victim’s bank cards.

The wallet, which belonged to an elderly man, was taken between November 13 and November 15.

Bank cards from the wallet have since been used in shops in the Penllergaer area to buy items using the contactless payment method.

During one transaction, the card user - who wore a hooded parka coat and hat, but appears to be a woman - was captured on the shop’s internal camera system.

A spokesman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “We would especially like to speak to the person in the CCTV as they may have information which could help the investigation.

“We ask that the person in the CCTV, or anyone who can identify them, or anyone with information which could help the investigation, contacts Ammanford Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
