The Welsh National Sheep Dog Trials, Craft and Food Festival will take place at Dinefwr Park, Llandeilo from Friday, August 2 until Sunday, August 4.

Surrounded by the historic setting of Newton House and Dinefwr Castle visitors will get the opportunity to witness top competitors battling it out to be crowned champion of Wales.

The festivities will begin on Thursday, August 1 with a parade of competitors taking place through the town of Llandeilo, celebrating the arrival of the event to the area.

Friday will see the main event start with a 150 competitors taking part across the three days in the wonderful setting of Dinefwr Park.

The top five competitors from each day will be selected to represent Wales in the International Sheep Dog Trials held in Scotland later on in the year.

In addition the winner of each day will also go forward to compete against each other on the Sunday to announce the overall winner and of the Welsh trials and become the team captain of Wales for the International Trials.

Adding to the action we will also see the brace competition taking place with the top two competitors across the three days going forward to represent Wales in the International Sheep Dog trials.

With plenty of action taking place on the competition field, the event will also feature over 80 stalls including a range of local craft and food produce and organisations, making it a real festival feel.

There will also be a demonstration kitchen onsite and other activities to keep visitors entertained for the whole weekend.

Plus visitors will also be able to enjoy the facilities at Dinefwr Park within the ticket price, a great opportunity to take a walk to Dinefwr Castle of explore the historic Newton House.

"Our focus for the weekend has also been to create a great family day out with the craft and food festival, encouraging people to attend and hopefully experience the excitement of the sheep dog trials for the first time.”

Entry to the Trials is £8 for adults (per day) with children under 16 free of charge, making it a great family day out. Entry is also free for National Trust and International Sheep Dog Association.
