Tabernacle Chapel, Pontardawe

The annual carol service at the chapel organised annually for residents of Danybryn residential home was held on December 11. The Chapel was quite full with a lot of supporters. Ysgol Gymraeg Pontardawe pupils took part with some wonderful singing with Christopher Lewis as accompanist and also at the organ. Present at the service was AM Gwenda Thomas - Councillor Harry Bebell and Mrs Babell Mayor and Mayoress NPTCBC councillor Huw Evans Deputy Mayor Pontardawe town council. A good afternoon’s carol singing.

Pontardawe lights switch-on

THE Pontardawe Christmas parade starts from Church Street at 6pm on Friday, December 2, making its way to the Arts Centre by 6.30pm where themayor of Neath Port Talbot, Harry Bebell, accompanied by Father Christmas, will switch on the town’s Christmas lights.

Swansea valley rotary club

A summer nights barbecue took place at the Dillwyn Arms hotel, Pontardawe on August 31. It also involved a fancy dress with loads of prizes for everyone.

Pontardawe townswomen choir

The choir hve restarted their rehearsals, they meet every Tuesday evening in the vestry of Tabernacle Chapel, and are ably looked after by Mrs Riona Bowen with the Baton and piano.

Pontardawe seniors news

Back in circulation after more than a month off, the seniors were given a good musical talk on composer 'Schuman' and as well his life history, the Rev Clive Williams played some lovely music composed by him.
