The City and county of Swansea have granted the society the use of the disused canal museum in Coed Gwilym Park. They aim to use the outside (caged) area to develop an exhibition of canal artefacts.

The annual supporters concert for the above was held on Saturday, September 5, at the Tabernacle Chapel, Morriston. Four young soloists were competing for this young singer of the year competition guest accompanist was Mr Jeffrey Howard. The winner was Catrin Aur Davies (soprano), musical director was Joy Amman Davies with Jo Seullin as accompanist.

On September 2 members met for their monthly meeting at the cross centre, nothing of great importance, but a good old chin wag, amongst themselves, and perhaps some new ideas for the next meeting or two.

Mrs Catherine Ann Lewis of 65 Alltywerin Road, Pontardawe will be celebrating their wonderful achievement of 100 years of age on September 19, more news will follow in next edition.

Dance group Amman Valley School of Dance will be opening their doors to the public this weekend, with their summer show - From Practice to Performance.

On Friday evening down at the Neuadd, the legal side of things came to entertain the members with a questions and answer evening. Mrs Loise Williams solicitors came to speak on benefits etc. It was a most informative and instructive evening. Various questions were asked and answered to the best of her ability. She was introduced and thanked by chair.
