Ruth retires after 20 years

Cwmaman Senior Citizens will meet tomorrow (Thursday, May 10) as usual.

At our AGM last week which was very well-attended, during the meeting Mrs Ruth Frost, our Secretary tendered her resignation, feeling she had been in the post for over twenty years, and Mrs Anne James was duly elected to take her place.

The Chairperson, Mrs Lorraine Lewis and some of the members put on a wonderful spread of sandwiches, strawberries and cream and trifles etc, also a lovely retirement cake which everyone tucked into and enjoyed.

The Chairperson also presented Mrs Frost with a cheque. It was nice to see some Cwmamman Town Council members joining us during the afternoon, although we were sorry that Cllr Elsie Jones was unable to attend,as she was in hospital, and we all wish her a speedy recovery.

We hope to have a trip later this month, details to be given in next week’s Guardian. We thank the ladies who donated gifts towards the raffles.
