Carnival meeting

3:13pm Thursday 28th January 2010

A meeting of Cwmaman carnival committee will be held at Ysgol y Bedol, Garnant at 5pm on Thursday, February 4. It is hoped that local parents can attend at this time, along with pubs, clubs, youth groups, local organisations and group. If you attended the autumn meetings, please come along again. Arrangements for the Cwmaman carnival, scheduled for July 3, will be finalised.

Warming up winter

Have you had your fill of long dark winter evenings, snow and ice and TV repeats, well come along to the old school on Friday January 29 at 7.30p.m. for an evening of community song, words and laughter. Along with Llandybie’s up and coming singing talent Anwen Price, some of our talented locals will contribute to the evening with a verse or two and other miscellaneous items. The evening will be compered by Phil Russell who has newly moved to the area, so as well as enjoying the entertainment it will be a great chance for a nice chat and a welcoming cuppa. Tickets £3. Proceeds towards buying the school for the community.

Black Mountain walking club

Brynamman Rainbows

The Brynaman Rainbows group is a relatively new group which meets at St Catherine’s Church hall, Brynaman every Tuesday, from 4pm to 5pm. If you are aged 5 to 7 years old, why not come along, or for more information, please contact Megan Roberts on 01269 822302.

The Garnant branch of the Royal British Legion will hold their first meeting of the New Year on Tuesday, February 2 at the usual time, at Garnant club.

Amman Valley camera club

Amman Valley camera club next meet tonight (Wednesday) at the Community Centre Cwmgors, 7pm meeting to start at 7.30pm. Tonight’s meeting will be a practical (printing and mounting) part one. With part two taking place at the next meeting on February 3.
