Like all residents, our enthusiastic local area whist supporters greeted the clearance of the recent vast blanketed area of snow and ice with great relief, for among the many rewards was their ability to resume their attendance at their weekly whist drive session, which was well supported, on Monday, January 18.

An evening of deeply absorbing matches ensued and the eventual evening winners were: Top Score: D Thomas; Top Lady: I Ennis; Top Gent: S Harris; Longest Sitter: R Sewtar; Lowest Score: K Russell.

The evening raffle recipients were T C Mills and F Walters.
