PENSIONERS' CHAT - On Wednesday, October 9, chair announced that both Daphne Thomas and Eirwyn Jones had fallen. They had been hospitalised ad both had received hip operations. Kitty Wita had also been re-admitted. Our best wishes for a speedy recovery go out to them.
A new member Mrs Betty Thomas of Tycroes, was welcomed into our group.
Our popular bingo session was then held.
This week, October 16, we have Mr Paul Jewel with an interesting film show. The following week, October 23, we will be entertained by the children of Parcyrhun school and on October 30 we will hold a quiz.
BHF CONCERT - Ammanford branch of the British Heart Foundation will hold a concert with Cardiff Blues Choir, at Bethany Chapel, Ammanford from 7pm.

AMMANFORD AFC AGM - The annual general meeting is to be held on Monday, October 21, at the Cricket Club, Ammanford Park.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7.15pm.
All players, club members and supporters are urged to attend as the club looks to the future.
Anyone who is interested in joining the club committee or is able to offer their help in anyway is also welcome to come along and take part.
Ammanford AFC currently boasts teams competing in the Welsh League and the Carmarthenshire League as well as at youth, junior, girls and mini-football level.
SLOT CAR CLUB - The club meets every Tuesday evening at Pantyffynnon social club at 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome to the club to enjoy a social evening of slot car racing. For further information contact Keith Morgan on 07973687546.

MENCAP BIRTHDAY EVENT - Amman Valley Mencap is celebrating their 21st birthday with a two-course meal, auction and raffle and live entertainment at the Aman Centre on Friday, November 8.
Starting at 7pm, this glamorous auction and ball features live entertainment from the UK’s ultimate Celine Dion tribute artist Chantelle.
There will be a fabulous auction with lots featuring signed football shirt, signed football, signed celebrity photos and many more. A raffle will also be held with many exciting prizes up for grabs including tickets for days out, vouchers and gift cards among many others.
All prizes and auctions lots have been very generously donated from many local businesses and supporters of Amman Valley Mencap.

MUSICAL TRIPS TO CARDIFF - Priscilla Queen of the Desert starring Jason Donovan will appear at Wales Millennium Centre Cardiff in January. Wicked the Musical is at the Wales Millennium Centre in April 2014. There is an opportunity for you to see the Good Friday (April 18) performance.
