POLICE AND COMMUNITY TOGETHER - At last week’s latest P.A.C.T. meeting, among complaints received were accounts of speeding vehicles at Heol Aman, Lower Brynaman, and at Heol y Gors, Cwmgors.

For your diaries, the next PACT meeting will be at GCG Community Hall (6.30pm) on November 27.

UV PARTY - Cwmgors Rugby Club will be holding an UV Party this Saturday (October 12) from 7pm to 12 (0ver 18s only), with a Laser display, Old School Club Anthems, Bubble machine etc. Tickets £5 (£6 at the door).

SYMPATHY - Deepest condolences are expressed to the family of Mrs Dorothy Eileen (Doris) Owens. Doris, the widow of the late Vivian, of Gorsto Road, Gwaun cae Gurwen, passed away, peacefully, at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff on September 21.

The funeral will be held this Friday (October 11) at Hen Garmel Cemetery, following a service for family and friends at 24, Gorsto Road, GCG.

GCG OAP NEWS - Gwaun cae Gurwen OAP branch met on Wednesday, October 2, Mr Morlais Pugh leading the Lord’s Prayer in English. Best wishes were extended all members ill in hospital, at home, or in nursing homes. A new member was warmly welcomed, namely local lady Mrs Sally Evans.

The evening’s entertainment was from the Swansea Amateurs who gave an enjoyable rendition on songs and readings. The lucky raffle winner was Enid Evans.

A Christmas shopping trip to Cardiff has been organised for Wednesday, December 11.

The next meeting will be on Wednesday, November 6, when Boots the Chemists from Ammanford will be the guests.
