IT'S that time of year again, Oh yes it is.

Pontardawe Arts Centre pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk will soon be opening its doors to the public.

This year's family friendly extravaganza opens on Friday, December 9 for its gala performance and runs until Sunday, December 18.

Co-Produced by It's an Act, the professional theatre company, well known locally for writing and producing smash hit comedies including Bred in Heaven and Whose Coat is that Jacket?

This year's production promises to put an up to date feel on to a family classic, and with ticket prices from just £7.00, this promises to be the best value for money pantomime that your gold coins can buy.

Jack Llewellyn, Artistic Director of It's An Act and the writer of this year's Christmas cracker said: "Jack and the Beanstalk promises to be an unmissable Christmas show at the Arts Centre.

"There is absolutely no doubt it's one of the most well-known panto titles, it's a great story packed with fun and adventure and we look forward to putting our fresh ideas on to a panto classic."

The director of this year's pantomime is another well-known face locally in Dean Verbeck. He added: "Pantomime is very important to me and I have been directing this genre of theatre for the past 10 years. I've worked with Jack on numerous projects over the last few years, and we're greatly looking forward to bringing this hilarious show to the Arts Centre.

"Anyone who has seen Jack's plays will know you're in for a good fun show full of laughs, and this pantomime is no different. I'm in no doubt that it is the pantomime to see in South Wales and with it being such good value for money, it's the perfect Christmas gift."

Starring Tony Wright MBE as Dame Trott and Jack Llewellyn as the villainous Fleshcreep, this year's extravaganza will feature everything you've come to love from the traditional family panto.
