Lovers of Halloween get the chance to celebrate the night in a suitably ghoulish fashion with a new darker version of the town’s award-winning Creepy Carmarthen tour.

Magician and storyteller Nick Brunger is running two “adults only” evening walks on Monday, October 31 featuring some of the town’s truly horrible history from years gone by.

“I’ll be ramping up the guts and gore and including some more true stories from the past that don’t usually get mentioned on the regular family-friendly tours,” says Nick.

“Among the new tales I will be relating the connection between Carmarthen and Llanelli and the killings of Jack The Ripper.”

Luckily for horror fans there is plenty to go at with several ghastly murders to be related as well as ghost stories from around the county.

Nick is also promising some new “psychic experiments” of the kind that have drawn both visitors and locals to the tour over the past four years.

“The Halloween tour will be much more intense than the regular walk and are definitely not suitable for children or those of a nervous disposition.”

Places on the 90 minute tours, which begin at 7 and 9pm, can be booked through Carmarthen’s Tourist Information Office on 01267 231557.

Halloween is one of Nick’s busiest times of year, seeing him lead four nights’ worth of haunted tours at the National Trust’s Newton House at Llandeilo as well performing during five days of “Freaky Family Fun” at Picton Castle in Pembrokeshire.
