LEE Gibson and Tina May are two of Britain’s best known, best loved, and most highly regarded jazz singers, and you can see them at Taliesin Arts Centre, Swansea when they bring their show Sophisticated Ladies to the stage on Sunday, February 21.
The pair come together in this dynamic and vibrant show to celebrate the music of the legends who inspired them – the ‘Sophisticated Ladies’ of the heyday of twentieth century song.
Both Lee and Tina have appeared regularly in Swansea in recent years - at Taliesin and also Swansea Jazzland. Lee appeared at last year's Swansea International Jazz Festival at The Dylan Thomas Centre
Lee and Tina enchant and delight with show-stopping solo performances and electrifying, playful duets in this collection of their favourite tunes, arranged especially for the show.
They are accompanied by an all-star trio featuring three of the biggest names in British contemporary jazz: Robin Aspland on piano, Paul Morgan on double bass and Neil Bullock on drums.
