Glynneath Town 2 Bryn Rovers 2
8:00am Wednesday 3rd October 2012 in Sport
Neath and District Reserve Division 1
IN WHAT was a very evenly contested match, Bryn came away from a difficult venue with a well deserved point.
The opening exchanges saw Bryn create chance after chance but an inspired display from the Glyn ’keeper kept them at bay.
Christian Jones brought the best out of the ’keeper with a bicycle kick on the half hour.
Chris Jones also had a very good chance for the visitors but it crept wide.
Bryn eventually took the lead on the hour as Christian Jones scored his 5th of the season after a great run.
Glynneath equalised three minutes later after a diagonal ball caught Bryn napping for an easy finish.
The equaliser seemed to spurn on Glyn as they started to dictate the pace of the match and pressed for the winner.
A free kick was awarded to the home team around 35 yards from goal, and it nearly crept into the top corner, but Bryn goalkeeper Richard Lloyds managed to touch it on to the post.
However the Glyn attackers were waiting and tapped the ball into the net to make it 2-1 with eleven minutes to go.
Bryn were awarded a free kick 20 yards from goal with two minutes left and it was the quick thinking of Mark James that made the difference as his quick effort sailed into the net to give Bryn a point.
