Penybanc 67 Llandybie 0

Division Five South West

BANC welcomed Llandybie for this eagerly anticipated derby with a huge crowd in attendance enjoying the glorious sun.

Llan started the better, their pack driving hard and retaining the ball well.

Against the run of play though, Banc earned turnover ball and spread it for wing Dan Roberts to cross for a well-taken try. This seemed to spur the tigers on and they soon crossed for two quick-fire tries through centre Mathew Brayley and wing Nathan Jenkins.

Minutes later the bonus point was sealed, No 8 Chris Jones galloping over after a fine break from Christian Hughes.

Banc were nowin total control with half backs Mathew Ladd and Mathew Lloyd seeing plenty of clean ball.

Brayley soon crossed for his second before impressive flanker Nathan Chapman powered over.

It was one way traffic in the second half with the electric Wayne Williams at his counter attacking best against his former team. Williams scored one of his own before he combined with Hughes to free player/coach Geraint Evans for a great score.

Llandybie never gave up and tried to get back into the game with captain Lyndon Davies to the fore but were met with resolute Tigers defence. Centres Evans and Brayley were causing havoc in midfield and were unplayable at times.

A neat Evans break and offload put Brayley in for his hat trick. He then claimed his fourth on the final whistle to cap a great performance.

Fly half Lloyd kicked 6 cons. This was a complete performance from the Tigers with everyone playing their part in a fine display of attacking rugby.
