Pantyffynnon 36 Tregaron 30

Division Six South West

PANTY kicked off their campaign with a bonus point win in a feast of running rugby at Cae Maimo.

Panty started well, racing into a 14-0 lead thanks to the returning Matthew James and new summer signing Ashley Evans.

But ill-discipline – which was a problem all afternoon for the homesters – let Tregaron in for a try to bring the score at half time to 14-10.

After a stern talking to at half-time, Panty flew out of the blocks to stun Tregaron with two quick tries through James again and Steff Williams.

Again, ill-discipline resulted in Tregaron getting field position to score two more tries which were followed by James again scooting over for his hat-trick.

Tregaron again responded as James turned from hero to villain as he was carded to set up a tense finish as Tregaron went for the score to try and snatch an unlikely win.

Panty held firm to take the spoils in what was a good advert for village rugby.
