CWMAMMAN and Tumble Bowls Clubs got to know each other quite well over a busy week, with the clubs meeting in midweek for their muchrearranged fixture before renewing acquaintances in the reverse fixture on Saturday.
And it was even-stevens after a win apiece.
On Wednesday evening, Tumble played host but were defeated by ten shots with things going close on rinks three and four.
Tumble skip Tony Rees four managed a ten-shot win on rink five, but the main damage was done on rink two where Cwmaman skip Gwyn Phillips and his boys claimed victory by 24 shots.
Rink scores: (Tumble skips first) Rink Two: G Morris 9; Alun Morris, Dai Llewellyn, Ron Lewis, Gwyn Phillips (skip) 33. Rink Three: Gwyn Hones 18, John Milbourne, Doug Turner, Tom Jones, Byron Davies (skip) 17. Rink Four: B James 16; John Viola, Alan Thomas, Peter Jones, Mydrim Jeremiah (skip) 13.
Rink Five: Tony Rees 19, Oswyn Lewis, Simon Hawker, Gethin Edwards, James Davies (skip) 9. Tumble 6pts Cwmaman 8pts.
On Saturday, Cwmaman played host in another hotlycontested affair.
Tumble managed to overturn the midweek disappointment to run out winners by five shots (79-74), earning ten league points in the process to Cwm’s four.
Tumble’s best performance came on rink two where skip Tony Rees’ four won by eight shots. Rinks four and five proved extremely tight and were shared.
Cwm’s best rink, under skip Byron Davies, won by six.

After this match, Cwmaman’s fixtures see them face Gowerton (away) on Monday evening before they play host to Dafen Welfare Crusaders on Saturday.
