Searchers will give a taste of five decades of success
8:00am Wednesday 18th July 2012 in Sport
WHEN you think of The Searchers, you think of the distinctive jangling sound of the twelvestring guitar and the rich harmonies embellishing their immaculate vocals which have, without doubt, assured The Searchers of a lasting place in the history of popular music throughout the world.
With such classic hits as Sweets For My Sweet; Needles and Pins; Don’t Throw Your Love Away, Sugar and Spice and When You Walk In The Room, and total record sales well in excess of 40 million, The Searchers still have great appeal to audiences of all ages.
They continue touring the globe as much today as they have done throughout a fantastic career, now remarkably spanning five decades.
The Searchers have devised a ‘special’ solo concert for UK touring, which is a highly entertaining concert and has been enthusiastically and warmly received.
Combined with anecdotes and reminiscences, this self-contained concert includes their hits, plus many of their original album recordings, Bsides and a selection of other well-known favourites.
Don’t miss The Searchers live in concert at The Lyric Theatre , Carmarthen, on Wednesday, August 1, 7.30pm.
