AMMANFORD were first on against Cardiff when they defended their T20 title at the Swalec Stadium on Sunday.
Skipper Alun Evans won the toss and invited Cardiff to set them a target.
Matthew Donohue again made swift inroads with an early wicket, but Alun Thomas (31) and Dale Kirtley (37) took Cardiff to 72 before leg spinner Matthew Roberts ran through Cardiff with five consecutive wickets leaving them on 97 for seven.
Roberts’ figures of five for 26 would have been even better without two sixes from his final two deliveries which helped Cardiff reach 128 for seven.
Losing opener Rhys Davies with 10 on the board, AndrewSalter (27) and Matthew Fisher (17) took Ammanford to 40, but the defending champions were never really up with the run rate.
Abattling 37 from Alun Evans failed to remedy the situation, and when only four runs came from three late overs, Ammanford capitulated, falling 14 runs short on 115 for seven.
Sully were the eventual winners, beating Cardiff in the final.
