Cwmgors RFC celebrate season of success

CWMGORS RFC marked the end of a solid season in which they won 16 of their 22 matches and finished a creditable third in Division Five Southwest with their annual presentation evening.

The highlight of the evening came when Darren Howells and Rob Clive were jointly named as the club’s Player of the Year.

Clive also scooped the Supporters’ Player of the Year.

The evening’s other big winner was Lloyd Watson, who claimed the Players’ Player of the Year and the Most Improved Player trophies.

Liam Jones was named Most Promising Player, while Cerith Dennard earned the title of the club’s Most Dedicated Player.

Nathan Nordhoff claimed the Most Loyal Player award and Keith Davies was named Clubman of the Year.

Steff Rees scooped the prize for Top Points Scorer with a total of 115 while Darren Howells, Mike Hodges, Ethan Price and Kieran Turner shared the award for the most tries with five each.

Carl Carter also received a blazer for 15 years’ service to the club.

The evening’s entertainment came courtesy of Karl Nottingham and Peep Show.
