AMMANFORD went into the final game of the season knowing second place was secure Johnstown started the stronger and grabbed an early lead. But Ammanford equalised on five minutes when Grace Rees-Swain’s corner found its way into the net.
The visitors settled and began to play the better football, and scored a second through Lucy Packer after good play by Caitlin Edwards and Lowri Harries.
A third goal for Ammanford came minutes later as Nia Rees finished superbly. However, the home side did not give up and scored two quick goals before half time to make it 3-3.
Ammanford started the second half much better than the first and got a superb fourth goal from Rees-Swain who calmly curled the ball into the net and she grabbed her hattrick a couple of minutes.
Johnstown hit back to make it 5-4 before Ammanford cemented the win with a fantastic sixth goal as Georgina Jones played a great ball to Rees who fed Chantel Mann to finish powerfully.
With five minutes to go the defence battled well to set up another great move for Rees to make it 7-4.
