Welsh League Football Ely Rangers 2 Ammanford AFC 2

IN THEIR last match of the season, Ammanford gained a well-deserved point thanks to two goals fromOwen James.

Despite the result, Ammanford’s future remains in the balance following the expulsion of Neath from the League of Wales, creating a situation that could see as many as four teams relegated from each division.

Any such decision – set to be madeduring thecomingweeks – is sure to be fiercely contested by Ammanford.

Ammanford opened the scoring with a fine team goal.

But Ely levelled on 32 minutes and two fine saves by keeper Rano and a stubborn defence kept the fixture in the balance.

Rangers went ahead on 59 minutes, but two minutes later a brilliant effort from James put Ammanford back in the driving seat and they claimed the draw they deserved having dominated the last half hour.
