LLANDEILO U9s continued their rich vein of form by defeating a Lampeter side at Cae William.

The visitors from Ceredigion gave a good account of themselves, but the Towy Valley side outclassed them in an opening encounter on a beautiful spring-like morning.

The home side showed their superiority and played as a tight unit with good passing, excellent defending and an alertness which ensured Lampeter were constantly on the back foot.

The first of two play-offs saw a comprehensive victory for Llandeilo with the final score of seven tries to a hat-trick by Lampeter’s Bryn Thomas.

Llandeilo’s Ben Evans also grabbed a hat-trick while Nicholas Evans added a brace.

Tomos Davies and captain William Charles-Davies also got their names of the scoresheet.

The second contest was a much tighter affair as the green, black and gold of Llandeilo crossed the try-line three times with scores from Ben Evans, Tomos Davies and Nicholas Evans compared to Lampeter’s scores from Bryn Thomas and Rhodri Morgan.

Llandeilo’s double victory was only possible thanks to a fine team performance and individual efforts from Steffan Douch, Ffion Lewis, Dyfan Roberts, Jannes Van Winden, Logan Williams and Reuben Williams.

Llandeilo’s are due to travel to Kidwelly in their next fixture on Sunday, March 4.
