Welsh Cup semi-final Llandudno (135) beat Ammanford (117) Ammanford bombed out of the semi-final of the Welsh Cup following a tortuous five-hour journey to Llandudno on Sunday.

Batting first, Llandudno were soon in trouble as Jack Murphy and Tom Maynard took a couple of early wickets.

A third wicket stand of 60 between Duncan Widgeley (72) and Jordan Kane (29) provided the bulk of LlandudnoÕs total, but with KaneÕs departure, wickets again tumbled and the north Walians were all out for 135.

Main wicket takers for Ammanford were Alun Evans (3-21), Tom Maynard (3-20) and Hedd Wyn Jones (2-28).

Ammanford opened with the preceding dayÕs batting heroes, Jack Murphy and Steffan Jenkins, but both were back in the pavilion with just 14 on the board.

A half-century partnership between Alun Evans (31) and Rhydian Harris (19) should have turned the contest AmmanfordÕs way, but a ten-minute break for rain seemed to change the game.

Once play had restarted, panic set in as Ammanford threw wickets away, including two run-outs.

Llandudno, to their credit, bowled and fielded well, Bowles (3-14) and Kerr (2-21) taking full advantage of the effects of the rain.

Ammanford were all out for 117.

In the other semi-final, Swansea beat Cardiff on the last ball of the match.

Next Sunday, Ammanford face another mammoth trip as they travel to west Cornwall as Welsh champions for the next round of their T20.

Just to make matters more interesting, Ammanford are scheduled for the first tie at 11am.
