A late Richard Lewis penalty earned Ammanford a valuable point in a tight affair that could easily have gone either way.
The opening minutes saw an end-to-end contest with Ammanford creating the better chances, as first Mathew Fisher and then Richard Lewis were denied by fine saves from the visiting keeper.
Town stopper Stuart Lloyd also got in on the action, pulling off three fine saves before Steffan Hughes sent a pinpoint cross over in the 20th minute.
Luke Fayres, deep inside Tredegar territory, failed to the awkward bounce with only the keeper to beat and the visitors breathed a sigh of relief.
Fisher then saw a penalty appeal turned down when he was felled on the edge of the area while clean through.
He suffered a similar fate just moments later when he made his was through the centre of the Tredegar defence only to be seemingly brought down again - this well inside the box but play to be waved on by the officials.
Fisher was becoming an ever-greater thorn in the Tredegar side and in the 35th minute he saw a well-placed drive well saved.
Five minutes after the interval, Lewis set up Dean Jenkins who miss hit his effort.
Lewis himself had a fine effort saved on 57 minutes, but the visitors used a change in possession to hit their hosts on the counter, to grab an unlikely lead.
Immediately from the restart Jenkins made his way deep into Tredegar’s box where he was wrestled to the floor.
Initially the referee waved play on, but the misdemeanor was spotted by his assistant and Ammanford were awarded a spot-kick.
Lewis stepped up to drill the ball home and return the game to parity.
With three points up for grabs, but sides stepped up their efforts and keeper Lloyd saved well to see off one Tredegar assault.
Ammanford will have ended the game slightly aggrieved that they could not find a winner, but a draw was a just result for Tredegar who enjoyed as much of the ball as their hosts.
Next week, Ammanford visit Cwmbran Celtic while the Reserves welcome Garden Village.
