In the Llanelli snooker League first division, Andrew Morgan (35 and 29 breaks), Anthony Lewis, Calvin Howells and Gwyn Williams gave Pontarddulais Cons A a solid 5-2 win over Llandybie Social A, Wyn Major and Phil Lewis retaliated for the visitors.

Matchroom A claimed a second straight victory with an aggregate 4-3 success at Pontarddulais Workingmens, Keri Davies, Duane Griffiths and Dai Gabe won for Bont.

Elsewhere, Bryn edged to a 4-3 win against Llanesco B, wheras Cross Hands B won 5-2 at Llandybie RFC, following wins by Mal Jones, Joe Trelore, Alex Dickie and D.Jones. Anthony Krysa and Liam McGhee won for the RFC. Paul Crippin, Chris Waters and captain Paul Garritty gave Penygroes RFC an aggregate 4-3 victory at Llanesco A.

Burry Port Reading Room Blues sneaked a narrow 4-3 win at Gorseinon Workingmens’ A.

Frank Ellis, Nick Hunt and Byron Evans struck for the Brighton Road cuemen. Matchroom B similarly needed the aggregate to see off Morfa 4-3, for whom Daniel Bowen made a 54 break.

** In division 2, New Lodge A won for a second week, defeating Llanelli Liberals 5-2, after frame-wins from Marc John, Martin Tucker, Rob Gale and Phil Thickett.

Elsewhere, CGMD bounced back to winning ways with a 5-2 success at Llandeilo Hall, thanks to father and son Wyn and Rhodri Llewelyn, along with John Sparkes and Paul Landek. Victor Yeo and Bert Williams replied for the hosts.

Llanelli Cons A won again, 5-2 against Carway A, whilst Paul Jones, Lynn Howard and Mike Wood steered New Lodge B to a narrow 4-3 win at Electricity B. Jeff Howells, Ian Mason, Gareth Jones and Lyn Morgan were Cross Hands As’ winning-quartet in a 5-2 victory against Upper Tumble Blues, whose points were from Ceri Rees and Alan Samson.

Elsewhere, Burry Port Reading Room Reds were 4-3 winners against visiting Snooker World, for the Ammanford cuemen, M Phillips, Alan Jones and Howard Wood were on cue.

*** In the third division, Pontarddulais Cons B made it two out of two after a 5-2 win at Llandybie Social B, with Alan Hiddlestone, Steve Williams, Hugh Williams and Wyn Rees on top.

James Hagley and Karl Evans hit back for the home- side.

Meanwhile, Calsonic Rivals won again, 5-2 at Loughor Workmens’ expense.

Matthew Donald and Jamie Edworthy struck for Loughor.

Carway B slumped 6-1 to Llanelli Cons B, while Electricity C earned a 5-2 win at Loughor Workmens’ Ladies.

For the Ladies, Jan Madden and Carol Rees won.

Legion Reds claimed a 5-2 win against a depleted Great Mountain Blues side, wheras Ioan James, Gerry Keaney, John Williams and Nick Longar gave Upper Tumble Reds a 5-2 victory against Gorseinon Workmens’ B.

For Gors, Tudor Lloyd and Ashley Weemes retaliated.
