Sharks want fresh blood

RUGBY league has recently taken off in the area this summer- and the Sharks are on the hunt for more players.

Dinefwr Sharks, based at Tycroes RFC, have taken the area by storm and as well as a senior side, they also have side running from U13 level to U17 level.

Their success, coupled with that of the St Clears Wild Boars, means the sport is seriously on the up.

And Sharks chairman Geraint Jones has urged anyone with an interest in the game, to get involved.

“With rugby league, there are two senior national teams, one based on the professional game and the other known as Wales Dragon Hearts, where players come from the nine amateur Welsh Conference sides such as the Dinefwr Sharks or the Wild Boars at St Clears,” he said.

“With games during the summer, rugby can be fun in the sun.

“It could be your chance to prove you are good enough to be capped for Wales, along with the four West Wales players who have represented Wales at U16 and U18 level this season,” he added.

New senior players are still welcome at both clubs and players from U13s to U17s at the Sharksss.
