Cwm award night

CWMAMMAN AFC recently held their annual end of season presentation night with the awards going to Jamie Evans (1st Team Player of the Year), Carwyn Evans and Grant Rees (2nds Players of the Year), Richard Jones (3rds Player of the Year), Nathan Jones (Most Promising Player), Carl James (Players Player) and Jeff Matthews (Clubman).

Cwmamman would like to thank first team managers Neil and Eirian Rees for all the hard work and enthusiasm for last season, helping to achieve the club’s highest ever finish in the Welsh League.

At this year’s AGM, Ioan Jenkins, unfortunately due to work commitments and re-locating, announced his resignation as the club chairman.

A club spokesman said: “Cwmamman would like to thank him for all the hard work he has put into the club over the last ten years.

“Without him we wouldn’t be where we are today.”

Eirian Rees was voted in as the new chairman and there has already been a lot of hard, pre-season work put into the pitch and changing rooms.

For the upcoming season, first team manager Neil Rees will be assisted by Wayne Bowen, who has a proven track record in management with Carmarthenshire league side Seaside.

With a lot of hard work and a little bit of luck, they will be hoping to get that elusive promotion to division 2 that was so agonisingly missed out on last season.

Pre-season training will commence at Grenig Park tomorrow (Thursday) at 6.30pm and then, every Tuesday and Thursday. Any new players will be welcomed.
