GORSEINON 2 LLANDEILO 4 LTC Mobility Carmarthenshire League ON AN afternoon when Llandeilo would have been happy with a draw, they came away from Gorseinon with a well-deserved victory.

Gorseinon took the lead from a free kick but Llandeilo created some good chances with some good midfield play by Phil Morris and Keith Dainton, who linked well wings Kevin Jones and Dafydd Thomas. Llandeilo dominated the aerial battles, with Mark Swindells creating opportunities. After a half time team talk by coach Dai Looney and captain David Bevan, Llandeilo continued to take the game to Gorseinon and with 55 minutes gone levelled the scores with some excellent out field play by Keith Dainton. Llandeilo were now bursting with energy with some good possessional play. Their defence looked in total control after a shaky start. Llandeilo’s second goal was scored after some neat football through the midfield and a perfect cross from Kevin Jones for goal-starved Dafydd Thomas to pinpoint a header beyond the Gorseinon goalkeeper.

Llandeilo were looking for more, but a freak bounce caused goalkeeper Matthew Thomas completely to miss-read the ball which found itself in the back of the net for 2-2.

All Llandeilo’s pre-season training was now paying off and it wasn’t long before Dainton latched on to his second and Llandeilo’s third goal.

Llandeilo were now starting to pass the ball with ease and stretching Gorseinon, leaving big holes in their defence which allowed Dainton to complete a well -deserved hat-trick and Llandeilo’s fourth goal.

Thanks to Andy and Sian from the Hen Vic, Llandeilo, for sponsoring the kit.

lLlandeilo Reserves lost 4-2 to Gorseinon Reserves, Robert Tipton and Peter Andrews getting the goals.
