Cwmamman United lost 3-1 to Bryn Rovers at home in the local derby on Saturday in the West Wales Premier League.

Despite dominating possession in the first half and creating multiple goalscoring chances, Cwmamman went into the break 1-0 down after Rover’s captain Dan McMahon scored a header within minutes of kick off.

The away side then solidified their win in the second half thanks to goals from striker Brad Ayisi in the 50th minute and man-of-the-match Kirk McNally just after the 70th minute.

Cwmamman scored their only goal in the 85th minute and tried to rescue a point from the game.

However, Rovers stayed solid in the remaining minutes of the match and avenged a 3-1 defeat to Cwmamman in their previous encounter of the season.

The home side suffered their tenth loss in the league and are sixth in the table, nine points behind fifth-placed Ynystawe Athletic who also have a game in hand.

Rovers are ninth, four points behind Giants Grave and four points ahead of Dafen Welfare.

Cwmamman’s next league game will be on Saturday, April 20 when they take on four-placed Penlan AFC away.

Meanwhile, Rovers return tomorrow (Tuesday, April 16) against C K Swiss Valley, who are third from bottom in the table.
