Ammanford were edged out as they sought their first league win of the season at Dunvant.

Ammanford were slow out of the blocks following a delayed kick off and within minutes some powerful running, aided by some weak tackling, allowed Dunvant to get their first try.

Ammanford from the kick off pressed but could not get through the home defence, the only reward was a penalty which centre Steff Roberts put over, 5-3.

As in previous games Ammanford had a bad twenty minutes and this time Dunvant ran up a 16 point lead through scoring two tries.

Ammanford woke up towards the end of the first half making the home defence work hard. This positive, improved attitude was carried over into the second half and well marshalled by outside half Ryan Williams they started to get back into the game. Steff Roberts put over a penalty.

However, from the kick off Dunvant's forwards drove hard, eventually scoring and extending the lead, 24-6.

From here on in though Ammanford took control. A penalty kick into the corner by Williams was rewarded with a penalty try when the driving lineout was pulled down on the line.

Ammanford, now with their tails up, enjoyed a period of pressure on the home line which saw skipper Dylan Phillips hit a short, hard angle going over under the posts. Richards added the extras and the game was on , 24-20. As hard as they tried they could not get that one more try that would have given them the win.

This was a better performance with backrowers Joe Locke and Harri McBride standing out with their non stop hard work.
