AMMANFORD Cricket Club’s third side suffered a 39 run defeat to Morriston seconds away at Tir Canol.

The defeat means Ammanford remain in fourth position in the table.

It was the visitors who won the toss and elected to field.

Ammanford restricted their opponents to 165 all out, a total they would have been pleased with.

Opener Libby Thomas was the top scorer for Morriston, with an excellent knock of 68.

For Ammanford, Callum Fuge led the attack, finishing with impressive figures of 5 for 19.

In reply however, Ammanford’s batting line up crumbled.

Despite a fighting 60 from Dale Westcott, who was only backed up by a 23 run knock from captain Josh Davies, Ammanford fell well short of the target set by Morriston.

They were dismissed for just 126 runs.

Player of the match for Morriston, Libby Thomas, once again played a key role in the innings for the home team.

Thomas was wicket-keeper this time, and contributed to four wickets, taking two stumpings and two catches.
