A FUNDRAISING rugby tournament proved a huge hit once again as it returned to Penybanc RFC on the weekend.

The Evolution Super6 touch rugby event takes place at the rugby club every year, and this time saw 20 teams from across the area take part.

There were also appearances from a number of stars of the professional game as Scarlets’ hooker Ken Owens, Ospreys’ flanker Dan Lydiate, and Dragons’ scrum half Rhodri Williams presented first prize to Team Evo, who defeated the Mighty Whites in the final on Saturday.

As well as a day of entertaining rugby there was live music, a fitness challenge, a hog roast, and a Prosseco bar.

The money raised from the event will be used to support the Special Care Baby Unit at Glangwili Hospital.
