Welsh League Division One

Briton Ferry Llansawel - 1

Cwmamman United - 2

CWMAMMAN United’s incredible run continued as they grabbed a fourth successive win under new boss, Eirian Rees.

Cwm fought back from 1-0 down at half time to see off Briton Ferry Llansawel thanks to goals from Chris Allen and Collin Harris.

The visitors to Old Road started the game well. Darren Griffifths had the first real chance of the game, but his effort sailed just wide of the goal.

Ashley Curtis also went close to breaking the stalemate for Cwm when he found himself one on one with the goalkeeper, but his looping effort took the slightest deflection off a scrambling defender and went wide.

Ferry came close to taking the lead from a corner, but Cwm stalwart, Nathan McNeil, was on hand to head clear off the line.

Two minutes before half time, the hosts did go ahead though.

Winger, Stephen Davey latched onto a flick on from his teammate just outside the penalty area and unleashed a powerful effort which rifled into the back of the net, giving goalkeeper Chris Curtis no chance.

Only a couple of minutes into the second half Cwmamman were back on level terms.

Chris Allen got on the end of a cross and powered a header into the roof of the Ferry goal to equalise.

Confidence was clearly high amongst the visitors, as they pushed for a winner.

McNeil came close when his header was tipped onto the crossbar, and Collin Harris stung the hands of the goalkeeper with a fierce free kick.

However, with minutes to go, another chance fell Harris’ way and he made no mistake, nodding home the winning goal from close range.

A fourth successive win for manager, Rees, who maintains his 100 per cent record.
