Amman Valley continues to excel in competitive sport with Cwmamman United creating it's own piece of footballing history by winning promotion to the Welsh League division 1 with a fine 3-0 away win to the Aberbargoed Buds.

Cwmamman United travelled to Ystrad Mynach knowing that only a win would give them an automatic promotion place.

Cwmamman showed their determination to succeed from the off and played some attractive football. The home team almost upset the odds by forcing a superlative save from Cwmamman goalkeeper and manager Mark Snell.

However it wasn't long before Cwmamman's passing game clicked into motion and it was Collin Harries who slotted the opening goal of the game to ease the tension of a good away support.

Cwmamman were clearly on top in the first half and it was the home team's goalkeeper turn to show his skills with some fine saves.

Cwmamman's second goal broke the resilience of the home sides defence and it came from Cwmamman's flyer Jordan Vickers who angled his shot wide of the home keeper.

Half time score Aberbargoed Buds 0 and Cwmamman Utd 2.

As the teams returned for the second half, there was an air of confidence from the away team who knew that as long as they kept their shape and discipline that the objective of promotion was within their grasp.

Finally any possible doubts about the outcome of this game were removed when the influential Collin Harries scored his second goal of the game leaving the away fans ecstatic.

The final whistle came and Cwmamman's celebrations began.

An incredible achievement, joining Llanelli and Briton Ferry Llansawel into Welsh League Division 1.

So it was all Cwmamman's players and supporters back the Fisherman's club for some joyous celebrating.
