AMMANFORD seconds got the worse of a draw against Ynystawe at the Park.

Ynystawe's towering total of 311 for seven was due almost entirely to a staggering innings by opener Phil Bendle who stayed in for the entire 50 overs to reach 171.

Ceri Durke (43) and Jonty Morris (27) were able to offer him support.

Huw Jenkins and Matthew Davies shared a couple of wickets each.

Ammanford refused to be phased by the intimidating total and batted extremely solidly to reach 241 for six at the close.

Half centuries from Jamie Evans and Kael Ace were supported by steady knocks from Huw Jenkins (38) and Lloyd Beavn (32).

Next Saturday the seconds are away to Neath.
