CLWB Godre’r Mynydd Du have won the Llanelli & District Snooker League Harry Watkins cup in the third division final with a 4-2 victory against Calsonic Rivals.

The fishing club then also defeated New Lodge B 5-2 in the league, Wyn Llewelyn, Raymond Evans, Matthew Jones and Nigel Powney winning. CGMD also took on Trimsaran B in a rearranged fixture, losing 4-3.

Elsewhere in division 3, wins from Steffan Davies and Arnallt Evans weren’t enough for Tycroes RFC B, beaten 5-2 by Calsonic, and Pont Cons B beat Bryn B 5-2, courtesy of Julian Williams, Rob Davey, Alan Hiddlestone and Dai Porter. Mike Davies, Jules Wilde, Roy Wilcox and Tudor Lloyd gave Gorseinon workmens’ a 5-2 win at Trimsaran B.

Burry Port Legion Whites posted one of the results of the night with a 5-2 win at high-flying Morfa up in the first-division. Matchroom Reds also sealed a surprise 6-1 victory, against Snooker World, winning 6-1; just Elwyn Lewis won for the Ammanford visitors.

Elsewhere, Roger Morgan, Lindsey Pugh, Wyn Major and Peter Howatson gave Llandybie Social a 5-2 win at Upper Tumble Blues, who hit back via Alan Sampson and Chris Bishop.

Adam Griffiths and Dai Gabe struck for Pontardulais Workmens’, beaten 5-2 by Cross Hands B. Nigel Harris, Mark Davies, Mal Jones and John Shields won for the latter.

Pontyberem Workmens’ defeated Tycroes RFC A 5-2, while wins from Kyle Steins, Steve Doughton, Martin Tucker and Paul Doughton (37 break) helped Pont Cons A win 4-3 at Llandybie RFC. Andrew Williams’ fine 57 break, plus Mark Hughes’ win, helped the RFC rescue the aggregate point.

Almost 30 points separated bottom-side Snooker World B and clear Division 2 leaders Great Mountain, but the formbook was turned upside down as the Tumble side lost out 4-3, Chris Waters, Andrew Whitfield and Callum Jackson winning; J,Griffiths, James Bradley and Mark Martin replied.

Another surprise saw Electric B beaten 5-2 by Trimsaran A, while Llanesco beat Llanelli Cons A 5-2.

Penygroes RFC earned a crucial 6-1 victory at Bryn A, thanks to Marc Walters, Nigel Beynon, Paul Garrity, Jeff Jones and Terrence Howells.
