League Three West B

Betws 12 Aberaeron 10

Having not played since the end of November, a young Betws side looked to gain revenge against the seasiders in a welcome return to action.

In October, Betws were undone 9-5 on their trip to the coast and the second league meeting of the sides this campaign was an equally close-run affair.

Both teams saw their defences prominent in the early stages until Betws were caught offside and the visiting outside-half slotted over the kick.

Betws, playing down the hill in a string wind, produced the best moment of the match when Dan Griffiths dummied through the defence and slipped an inside pass to Daniel Madge to score under the posts. Griffiths converted.

Both sides were awaded a serious of dubious penalties and from one set-piece the Aberaeron pack rumbled 20 yards to score close to the posts with a converted try.

The setback galvanised Betws and the young pack took over with Hedd Jones prominent in the lineouts.

Pressure told and replacement Nathan Chapman scored after good work from Gareth Comley. The conversion was missed.

The visitors rallied but were unable to breach the outstanding Betws defence who held out for the win.
