Catrin Fry broke all Carmarthenshire records when she broke the one-minute barrier in the 100m freestyle
AN YSGOL Dyffryn Aman teenager has become the first Amman Valley girl to swim the 100-metre freestyle in under a minute.
Catrin Fry achieved the landmark at the Cardiff Capital Open swimming meet in the Cardiff international pool.
The 15-year-old’s time of 59.63 seconds was not only the first ever to have been swum by a member of Amman Valley Swimming Club, but also broke the Carmarthenshire record.
She finished her day by winning gold in the 200m freestyle in 2.08m.
Fry trains with Nofio Sir Gar elite performance squad under the guidance of head coach Austyn Shortman.
