League Three West B

Llandeilo 22 Trimsaran 19

Llandeilo got back to winning ways at Cae William with a third home victory of the season.

Trimsaran outscored their hosts by three tries to one but the visitors’ ill-discipline throughout allowed home full back Owain Roberts to kick his side to a valuable win.

In a tight first half, two Roberts penalties looked like taking Llandeilo into an interval lead but Trimsaran scored a neat try just before the break with just about their first serious attack when, after a number of phases were comfortably repelled, full back Dan Griffiths chipped through the defence to score under the posts, converting himself for a 7-6 advantage at the break.

The second half proved a more open affair.

The visitors scored a smart second try through veteran scrum-half Ioan Jones but further penalties ensured Roberts was able to keep the hosts in it.

With the score level at 12-12 Roberts initiated the key score of the game, kicking ahead from halfway before winning the ball in a goal-line scramble for replacement centre Liam Prothero to claim the try.

Roberts converted beautifully from wide out despite being injured in the lead up to the try.

The visitors rallied again and rolled a maul some 20 metres for a try credited to captain Ryan Edwards, but Griffiths struck a post with the conversion that would have tied the scores at 19-19.

Towards the end, Trimsaran's discipline deserted them and frustration at some of the referee’s decisions led to a red card and a final Roberts penalty with the last kick to seal the points.
