AMMANFORD started well and were soon rewarded with a penalty which outside half Rhydian Morris slotted for 0-3. Winger Dafydd Pritchard then ran in the opening try. which was not converted.
Some fine scrambling defence kept Bony out for over 15 minutes, but a cross field kick unlocked the defence. The loose ball was collected by the home centre Kyle Salter who ran over to make the score, the try was converted to bring the score to 7 – 8.
From the restart, Ammanford created some pressure and won a penalty to make the half time score 7-11.
Ammanford started the second half by scoring.
The home team did not help themselves – after stealing an Ammanford line out with a fine drive up field, the outside half then telegraphed his long pass which was picked off by Morgan to go over, Morris added the two.
Ian Brooks scored, and converted making it 14-24.
The home side were now under full sail with Brooks pulling the strings. A quick offload put the home winger over and the board showed 19-24.
Ammanford lost a scrum inside their own 22, which gave Brooks room to score. A kick was missed making it 24-24.
Brooks went over one last time. Final score was 31-24.
