Cwmllynfell 81 Cwmgors 13

CWMLLYNFELL blew away their near neighbours with a twelve-try blitz, letting rip in the second half, totally dominating this local derby.

The barrage which was to ensue seemed very far away when Cwmgors made the perfect start with an early penalty from the boot of Steff Rees.

But Cwmllynfell were better in all departments, and soon notched a brace of tries to make it 17-3.

Back came the visitors when Steff Rees proved the catalyst, his neat break creating space for Iwan Davies to gather and go in under the posts after 20 minutes.

Rees converted, but the hosts were soon purring like a well-oiled machine, and went clear by half-time after crossing for another hat-trick of tries, turning around 36-13 at the interval.

There was only one side in it in the second half, the hosts proving far too strong all round as Cwmgors, who were already weakened via injuries and unavailability’s, visibly wilted and failed to bother the scoreboard as Cwmllynfell ran riot, scoring seven second half tries.

Cwmgors’ scheduled home fixture against Taibach has been postponedThe Cherries return a week on Saturday away at Pencoed.
