Croeserw 51.25

Gwaun cae Gurwen 79

Gwaun cae Gurwen travelled to Croeserw , who they had beaten at home just three weeks earlier, and secured promotion with a comfortable victory.

Due to the adverse weather conditions during the past week the hosts decided to play on Rinks Two, Three, Four and Six. Thanks to work commitments, they found themselves a man down on both Rink Two and Six.

Winning the toss, the Waun got off to a flying start and after five ends led 28–8 with their Six rink leading 8–0 and the Two rink 11–3.

The visitors pressed home their advantage on Two and Six to lead 44–18 after ten ends , with Six leading 12–1 and Two 15-6 up.

Waun continued to extend their lead and were 66–28 ahead after 15 ends.

The hosts rallied late on, but despite scoring 26 shots to the Waun’s 13 over the last six ends, the visitors claimed a comfortable 79–51.25 victory .

The 11 points Waun earned ensured their promotion for the second consecutive season and if they are able to claim just six points from their final game at Vivian Park, Aberavon next week they will be crowned Division Three champions.
