The annual Evolution Super6's charity touch rugby tournament is due to take place this weekend.

The event, organised by Evolution a Health and Fitness Centre of Cross Hands, is this year supporting the Freya Bevan Fund.

Freya's father John-Paul is manager of Tonmawr RFC who have entered a team.

Two-year-old Freya has a PNET brain tumour and fundraisers are seeking to generate enough money to send her for treatment not available in the UK

The tournament is made up of a mix of 16 teams ranging from club sides, teams made up of friends and also an all women's team in the form of the Penybanc Panthers.

One of the most interesting games of the group stages will be when the Penybanc Panthers face the Penybanc Tigers in their first game.

However all teams will be looking to take the Super6 title off Llandovery RFC who have won it over the past couple of years.

There are six players on the field per team and each team is only allowed seven in their squad, so that's just one substitute.

This makes the rugby fast and furious and fitness levels are tested to the max.

The timing of the Super6's makes it an ideal tournament to enter for any team to test their fitness levels during ahead of their pre-season warm-up game.

Off the field there's plenty going on as well from junior rugby skills sessions, Pimms bar, children's entertainment, hog roast, Starbucks coffee stand and live music.

The first game starts at noon and the final game due to take place around 5pm, with the presentation set to follow at around 5.30pm.

Entry for spectators costs £3 for adults. Under 16s get in free.

All entry money goes to the Freya Bevan fund.

Everyone's welcome to come along and an enjoyable action packed day out.

You can pre-buy Super6 Supporting Freya wristbands for £3 from Evolution Health and Fitness Centre or Fresh Bites Ammanford leading up to the event to get entry or pay when you turn up at the event in Penybanc RFC.

The event takes place at Penybanc RFC on Saturday, July 18.
