CWMAMMAN United played out their last week of the season with three convincing wins. They achieved promotion from the Nathaniel Cars Welsh League, Division Three on Tuesday as runners up to Llanelli with a 6-1 win against Rhoose.

They went ahead after two minutes when Liam Soroka’s corner was headed in by a Rhoose defender. Soroka added a second when he chipped the keeper from the edge of the area. Jordan Langley added a third.

Rhoose converted a penalty but Cwmamman’s response was immediate with Liam Hughes scoring an absolute peach. His brother Steven then got in on the act and got the fifth. The sixth goal came with five minutes of the first half to go when Langley’s shot was too powerful from 12 yards.

On Thursday they faced Cardiff Corinthians at Caerau (Ely) ground and ended with 4-1 victory. Cwmamman’s opener came after 20 minutes when a Liam Soroka cross was headed home by Andrew Bonomi.

Soroka then made it 2-0 minutes later when a great ball by Brieg Matthews found Soroka in space and his finish was sublime.

The second half was a constant Cwmamman attack even though the hosts were first to score. Cwmamman’s response was immediate when Matthews got his first goal of the season after a great run and excellent shot which left the Corries keeper with no chance. Bonomi settled the game with Cwmamman’s fourth after another Matthews assist.

The last game resulted in a 3-1 home win over Newport Civil Service. Cwmamman scored just before the break when Matthews headed home from eight yards.

They doubled their advantage 15 minutes into the second period with another Matthews from Jordan Evans’ cross.CS immediately pulled one back but it was short-lived by Bonomi’s strike.
