With Pontyberem and Morfa both blowing their chances, Llandybie RFC claimed a surprise runners-up spot in the Llanelli Snooker League with a 5-2 win over Electric C, thanks to Rhodri Treharne, Dar Sigsworth, Liam McGhee and Sion Isaac.
Matchroom B claimed the league title with a final-night 6-1 victory against Pontarddulais Cons A as only Steve Doughton’s win saved the Cons from a whitewash.
Elsewhere, just A Harris won as Pontyberem crashed 6-1 at Cross Hands B. Aled Dickie, Nigel Harris, Adrian Phillips, A Parnell and Mark Davies all won for the latter. Morfa lost 4-3 at Snooker World A, whose winning trio were Shane Wright, J Meadows and Dai Luce.
Elsewhere, M Woods was New Lodge A’s solitary frame-winner after a 6-1 loss to Pontarddulais Workmens, for whom Duane Griffiths, Steve Dunn, Steve Davies, M Jones and Adam Griffiths struck.
Meanwhile, Bryn were edged out 4-3 at Llandybie Social A. Karl Evans, Roger Morgan and Huw Morgan were Llandybie’s winners.
Matchroom A are Division Two champions despite a 5-2 loss at Burry Port Reading Room Reds while Tycroes RFC, for whom G Jones, S Francis and the Bromhams - Dean and Matthew won, claimed the runners’-up berth with a 5-2 win at Garnant Club. Llanelli Cons A posted a 5-2 success against Cons B and Reading Room Blues won 4-3 at Calconic Rivals.
A Whitfield won for Division Three champions Snooker World B, who signed off with a 5-2 loss at Gorseinon Workmens. Mike Dodd, Mike Davies, D Thomas and Tudor Lloyd won for the Brighton Road cuemen.
Great Mountain,Tumble, claimed the runners-up spot while Upper Tumble Reds ended with a 6-1 victory against Trimsaran B, courtesy of C Bishop, Mike Sainty, John Williams, T Rees and L Williams.
Loughor went down 6-1 to visiting Cross Hands A while Alan Hiddlestone, Robert Davey, Phil Evans and G Thomas earned Pont Cons B a last-night 5-2 win against Llandeilo Hall. Eric Stevens and David Lewis were on top for the Hall.
