Local rugby will take centre stage at Parc y Scarlets on Saturday, May 16, when the Carmarthenshire Tyres League Cup final and the Llanelli and District Rugby Supporters Cup final are played as back to back matches.

"It is a departure from our traditional way of staging the finals but a move that is designed to promote 2nd XV rugby and allow the players who really the 'grassroots' of the game a chance to play at Parc y Scarlets," said LlanellI District chairman, Anthony Roberts.

"The Scarlets have showed their support for local rugby by sponsoring the leagues this season and we are delighted to have the opportunity to play our finals in one of the top grounds in Wales."

First to take the field will be Whitland, who face Newcastle Emlyn in the Carmarthenshire Tyres League Cup final at 1:30pm with Emlyn looking to clinch a league and cup 'double'.

Holders Felinfoel play Brynamman in the Llanelli and District Rugby Supporters Cup final at 4pm with 'Foel hoping to retain the cup they won when beating Kidwelly 21-17 at Burry Port last year. Felinfoel will also be aiming for the 'double' after winning the Scarlets League One championship.
